House left damaged with smashed windows after shotgun attack in Tallaght, Dublin

Shocking pictures show the extent of the damage caused to a house following a callous shotgun attack in Tallaght in Dublin on Sunday.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after blasts were fired at a house in the Mac Uilliam Estate in Fortunestown shortly after 6pm yesterday.

Horror pictures show hundreds of pellet holes in the walls of the house, while the front windows of the house were destroyed in the blast.

Dublin Live reports that gardai rushed to the scene after receiving reports of shots being fired at a house in the area.

On arrival, they found the victim who had apparent pellet wounds in his legs.

The man was taken to Tallaght Hospital where is injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

A garda spokesman said: "At approximately 6.20pm Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident at Mac Uilliam Estate, Fortunestown Lane, following reports of shots fired at a house.

"On arrival, Gardaí discovered a man in his 30s with apparent pellet wounds to his legs.

"He was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"No arrests have been made to date and enquiries are ongoing."
