A house fire Sunday displaced a family of three in suburban Naperville.

About 12:30 p.m., fire officials received multiple calls of a home who’s attic was on fire in the 900 block of Matthew Court, the Naperville Fire Department said. Neighbors told officials they believed there was a dog inside the home but was unsure if there were people inside.

Firefighters were able confirm that no residents were home at the time of the fire and the family’s pets were safely removed, officials said. Firefighters were able to subdue the blaze in under 45 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said. The house has been declared uninhabitable and the family was displaced because of damage to the wooden frame.
