House Dems request years of Trump's personal finances from accounting firm

House Oversight Committee chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) has requested 6-8 years of President Trump's private financial records from Mazars USA, a tax and accounting firm, Politico reports.

Details: In a letter addressed to Cummings, Reps. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows said the chairman's request appears to relate to Trump's stalled attempt to buy the Buffalo Bills and cites last month's testimony from former Trump attorney Michael Cohen. Jordan and Meadows slammed Cohen as a "convicted perjurer" and alleged the request is an "ill-conceived" attempt to "embarrass President Trump." Cummings later told Politico that the committee is simply "seeking the truth" and that Jordan and Meadows "complain about every single thing I do."
