House Democrats Call For Netanyahu To Step Down

Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried, center, speaks during a Biden-Harris 2024 campaign news conference, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, in Miami. The event coincides with the third GOP primary debate i

Following recent airstrikes in Gaza that tragically resulted in the deaths of seven aid workers from World Central Kitchen, some House Democrats are expressing growing criticism towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

US Representatives Jason Crow and James Clyburn voiced their opinions during an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Both lawmakers emphasized their belief that Netanyahu should step down from his position.

Clyburn stated, 'I agree with a headline I saw this morning, Israel must win. But Netanyahu must go. That, to me, will rectify all the mistakes if the people of Israel get rid of Netanyahu. He is a mistake.'

Crow echoed this sentiment by highlighting Netanyahu's perceived shortcomings as a leader. 'He's not the leader that's going to take Israel forward. He is a failed leader in every respect. He's not made Israel safer, he's helped escalate regional tensions. He's not listening to us and he is, in my view, in large part, responsible for this massive humanitarian catastrophe that we are seeing,' Crow remarked.

The comments made by Crow and Clyburn underscore a growing sentiment within certain circles of the Democratic Party regarding Netanyahu's leadership and the handling of the recent conflict. The tragic loss of the aid workers has further intensified the scrutiny on Netanyahu's leadership and decision-making.

As the situation in the region continues to evolve, the calls for Netanyahu to step down are likely to spark further debate and discussion both within the US political landscape and internationally.
