House cordoned off as police line the street and officers guard home

A house was cordoned off as police lined the street outside a home in Litherland.

Officers were seen guarding the property on Kirkstone Road North, on Wednesday night, just hours after another incident nearby.

Pictures taken of the scene show how the house was taped off and two officers were stood on the front path.

One of the windows at the front of the house was also boarded up after the glass was reportedly smashed.

At least four police cars and one police van were also at the scene with neighbours telling the ECHO that they arrived at around 6pm.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police was unable to provide any more details about what had happened but confirmed that officers were at the scene of an ongoing incident.

In a statement, the force said: "Officers are at the scene of an ongoing incident at a house on Kirkstone Road North, Litherland.

"There are no more details available at this stage but there is no concern to the wider public."

Earlier on Wednesday, people in the area reported seeing another large police presence on Kirkstone Road North, near Kirkstone Park.

An air ambulance was also seen landing in the park as officers and paramedics attended the scene.

Merseyside Police were asked about the incident and confirmed that a person had suffered a medical episode and that it was not a police incident.

It is not yet clear if the two incidents are linked in any way.
