The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms in Nottinghamshire over the next 24 hours and possibly longer.
On Tuesday, June 16 forecasters predict the county could be experience light rain from around midday along with some sunny intervals and mild weather.
From 1.30pm a yellow weather warning for storms is in place, which covers most parts of Nottinghamshire among several other parts of the country.
The warning is in place until 6am on Wednesday morning (June 17) but there is another in place from midday until 9pm, so the storms could be lingering for the next 24 hours with breaks.
The Met Office states a yellow warning suggests thunderstorms could lead to flooding and disruption in the affected areas and warns residents to look for for lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
Driving conditions may become difficult if there is standing water, roads may also be closed and there is likely to be delays to transport services.
