Hourly Nottinghamshire Met Office weather forecast as experts warn thunder could hit area

Sunseekers can yet again expect some unseasonally warm temperatures across Nottinghamshire at the weekend - but forecasters are warning there could be some thundery showers.

According to the Met Office, the mercury could hit as high as 23C on Saturday, May 9, with sunny spells throughout the day.

However, there is a sting in the tail, with the forecaster suggesting we could be in line for some thunder and lightning later on Saturday.

That prediction has not been confirmed in its official forecast, but in a statement, the organisation said: "Any early cloud breaking, to warm sunny spells through the morning.

"Further cloud then building, with scattered heavy and perhaps thundery showers possible by the afternoon. Winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 23C."
