It was huge news when Hourglass left Mecca for Sephora back in February after a 15-year partnership. And while some people were devastated they couldn’t rack up Beauty Loop points when buying the luxury makeup brand, I was excited for one huge reason: Hourglass would finally go on sale.
Friends, rejoice, because the time has finally come. Hourglass Cosmetics is about to go on sale for the first time EVER in Australia. Sephora’s annual Beauty Pass Sale starts tomorrow — one of the biggest sales on the beauty calendar.
Because Mecca never hosts sales aside from its annual Boxing Day event, and Hourglass was exclusive to the Aussie beauty retailer, the brand never went on sale due to its cult-like status. But now, Sephora Beauty Pass members will be able to score up to 20 per cent off for a limited time.
The Sephora Beauty Pass Sale sees some of the world’s biggest beauty brands lower their prices. It’s not a sitewide sale, but it’s not just an excuse to get rid of all the crappy unwanted products, either. More often than not, TikTok’s latest viral product will be included.
And in great news for shoppers itching to get their hands on Hourglass’ range at a discounted price, absolutely everything from the brand will be on sale. So if you want to pick up an old fave, try something new, or even try the brand for the first time (which is what I’ll be doing), there’s no better time than the present to throw your hard-earned cashola at Sephora’s checkout.
Wondering where to point your wallet at first? The Veil Mineral Primer ($101) has been one of the brand’s best-sellers for a long time. I personally haven’t tried it, since $101 for a primer seems absolutely insane to me, but has over 9,000 glowing reviews for a reason. It’s silky, weightless, and helps to conceal the appearance of redness and pores so your foundation sits beautifully on top.
Another hot product to secure during the sale is the Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint ($86). Influencer Izzy Armitage, whose makeup routine has been continuously begged for, said she uses this as part of her base routine and it gives a glowy, second-skin finish.
I was curious, so went and got a sample pot to try from Sephora, and was seriously impressed with how radiant it made my skin look.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a casual $86 to fork out on a skin tint, but now that it’s going on sale, you best believe I will be adding a couple of these to my cart.
Another cult-favourite product Hourglass fans preach about is the Ambient Lighting Blush ($84). This powder blush gives a soft glow, and is a good option for those who either want a blush topper to put over liquid formulas, or want to wear it on its own for a subtle look.
The Sephora Beauty Pass Sale kicks off at 10pm on Tuesday April 14, but they’ve opened a page on their site for you to see what will be on sale and start adding it to your wishlist. You need to a Beauty Pass member to shop the sale, but it’s free to sign up, so I’d go ahead and do that now before the sale begins.
As for the discounts? It varies depending on the tier you’re in.
The savings depend on your membership tier:
- White Members: 10 per cent off (no minimum spend).
- Black Members: 15 per cent off (no minimum spend).
- Gold Members: 20 per cent off (no minimum spend).
So the tier you are will determine how much money you get to save on your Hourglass goodies.
The discount will automatically apply at the checkout, so no need to worry about codes.
