Hour-by-hour weather guide for Bolton as snow is set to fall

Snow is set to fall in Bolton this evening.

A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice is in effect from 8pm this evening, until 10am tomorrow.

Around Greater Manchester, there has already been some snowfall on higher ground overnight and into the early hours.

Temperatures in Bolton will drop to 2C in some areas but it could feel as cold as -3C.

The hour-by-hour forecast predicts that it will rain for most of today, with the snow set to start falling in Bolton from 6pm.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Wintry showers are expected to continue through Tuesday night and Wednesday morning leaving surfaces wet and leading to icy stretches developing on untreated surfaces.

"These showers will fall as a mixture of rain, hail and snow at times, the snow mostly over higher ground.

"Some places are likely to see 1-3 cm of snow, mainly above 200 m, with 4-8 cm possible over the higher ground in northwest England."
