Plate Day, just like The Hoppings, is one of those events that has experienced pretty much every weather condition going over the years, from glorious sunshine to torrential rain and high winds.
It's back at Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday, June 29, with a bumper programme of racing and a bumper crowd expected.
Plate Day is the biggest day in the Racecourse's calendar and the Betfair Northumberland Plate Festival has now begun, with Gosforth Park Cup Night continuing things on Friday night.
But the big one is on Saturday - Northumberland Plate Day. Always a busy and glamorous day, the event see punters have a flutter on a full racing programme including the Betfair Exchange Chipchase Stakes and of course the Betfair Exchange Northumberland Plate.
