Hour-by-hour weather forecast for every region of Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester is set to see temperatures up to 28C today (Tuesday) as the UK enjoys a warm start to the month.

According to the Met Office, some areas of England are even edging close to recording an official heatwave this week as Brits enjoy the autumn sunshine.

A location meets the UK heatwave threshold when it records a period of at least three consecutive days of daily maximum temperature levels meeting or exceeding thresholds which vary across the country.

The threshold for Greater Manchester is 25C.

Conditions across England and Wales will be in the mid-to-high 20s today, while Scotland and Northern Ireland could see temperatures around 24C to 25C, forecasters say.

Central and eastern England could experience a maximum of 30C on Tuesday, while Greater Manchester is likely to see slightly lower temperatures with highs of 28C expected in Manchester and 27C in other boroughs including Salford, Stockport and Tameside.

September has already beaten this August’s highest temperature of 27.2C in the UK, which last happened in 2016.

Temperatures will fall later in the week, with an increased risk of some heavy showers.

Here is today's hour by hour weather forecast for every region Greater Manchester according to the Met Office.
