The North East is braced for more rain on Monday afternoon as a wet start to December continues.
Storm Barra is set to hit this week, with the Met Office predicting transport disruption and potential power cuts.
It comes as disruption continues to affect thousands across the region in the aftermath of Storm Arwen.
The incoming storm has been named Storm Barra by meteorologists.
Coastal areas in County Durham, South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Northumberland can expect some of the strongest winds, including gusts of over 40mph and heavy rain in Seaham, Sunderland, Tynemouth, Blyth, Amble and Berwick.
Newcastle is also set to be hit by gusts of more than 40mph on Tuesday afternoon, along with heavy rain later into the evening.
According to the forecasters for today, there should be periods of intermittent dry weather and even sunny spells in some areas by the afternoon. However, the wet weather will continue for many.

They forecast that the weather would be as follows over the course of today:
"A dry, chilly start but rain spreading east across the area during the morning with strengthening winds and some snow likely across the high ground of the Pennines.
"Rain clearing to leave sunny spells and blustery showers into the afternoon. Maximum temperature 5 °C."
