Liverpool is set for a scorching summer day on Friday with temperatures rocketing into the thirties.
While we experienced a run of hot weather in April and May the weather has been decidedly mediocre since then.
July should be filled with long hot sunny days, but this month there's been large amounts of rainfall, with temperatures below average for the time of year.
But that's all set to change, as the Met Office predicts wall to wall sunshine and high temperatures for Friday.
The Met Office forecast for the North West said: "Dry conditions are expected to continue on Thursday night under the influence of high pressure. There will be clear skies for most, but feeling mild with light south-easterly wind.
"Tomorrow will be a hot day for most, but somewhat cooler for coastal areas. Dry for most, but patchy cloud will push in later, with the odd shower possible in places.
"On Saturday, there will be a mixture of sunny spells and a few showers in places. A westerly wind will give a cooler feel than on Friday. Outbreaks of rain overnight.

"A similar picture is expected on Sunday, but the showers could be more frequent and heavier. Monday will see sunny spells again but a few showers cannot be ruled out."
