The North East looks set for a day of damp conditions with overcast weather and scattered showers on the way.
According to leading meteorologists at the Met Office, the region is set for a largely clear morning with these conditions gradually subsiding over the course of the day with wetter weather following. The North East should experience a comfortable maximum of 17C.
The Met Office have forecast the following conditions over the course of the day: "A largely clear start to the day away from the west, where low cloud will linger.

"Cloudier by late-morning, with scattered showers developing for the afternoon, perhaps heavy at times. Temperatures around average. Maximum temperature 17C."
By the evening, the showers look set to become more persistent leading to heavy bursts at periods. If you are planning on staying outside, do note that the temperature looks set to drop to a chillier maximum of 7C.
The Met Office have forecast the following conditions as we head into the evening: "Showers merging to give a more persistent spell of rain, with heavy bursts at times.
"The heaviest rain moving slowly southwards overnight. Minimum temperature 7C."
