Nottingham and the county is set to be hit by strong wind and heavy rain over the next 24 hours.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind from 12pm today until 12am on Wednesday, January 15.
Forecasters believe there is a chance the weather could cause delays to public transport and possible power cuts.
Gale-force winds are expected to hit the county with wind gusts - a sudden increase in wind speed that lasts no more than 20 seconds - predicted to reaching highs of 39 mph.
The unsettled weather is due to Storm Brendan which is sweeping its way through the country.
Yesterday Storm Brendan hit much of Scotland with snow and ice, although no snow has been forecast for England today.
