The North East looks set for a day of mixed conditions with sunny spells and showers over the course of the day.
Leading meteorologists the Met Office have forecast some pleasant conditions for this weekend with this tempered only with the prospect of the odd shower here and there. The temperature is set to reach a pleasant maximum of 19 °C.
The Met Office have forecast the following conditions for the region today: "Windy with sunny intervals and scattered showers, these mainly light but with the odd heavier shower.

"The best of the sunshine will be across eastern areas, while the showers will be most frequent across the west, especially over the Pennines. Maximum temperature 19 °C."
This evening, the North East looks set for cloudier conditions with the chance of some light showers, so do pack a jacket if you are planning on staying outside!
The Met Office have forecast the following conditions for this evening: "Dry with clear spells for eastern areas, while places further west, especially across the Pennines, will remain cloudier with a few light showers. Breezy. Minimum temperature 11 °C.!
Nationwide, a spell of unseasonably wet and windy weather will influence northern areas in the coming days, although there will be plenty of pleasant weather in the weekend further south- so worth to bear in mind over the next few days!
