The mixed weather looks set to continue in the North East with sunny spells and scattered showers on the way.
Outbreaks of rain have been forecast, bookending some brighter spells in the afternoon in the region. The temperature looks set to reach a pleasant maximum of 18C.
The Met Office has predicted the following conditions for over the course of the day: "Cloudy and rather windy during the morning, with outbreaks of rain moving eastwards.

"Rain clearing to the east around lunchtime, with drier and brighter spells developing, but remaining windy, locally gusty at times, with scattered showers through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 18C."
The rainy weather looks set to dissipate as we head into the evening with sunny spells to come. Do make sure to pack a jacket, however, if you are planning on staying outside as the maximum temperature is likely to be a chillier 4C.
The Met Office forecast these conditions for this evening: "Any showers dying out to leave a largely dry evening, with sunny spells.
"Staying dry with clear spells overnight and turning locally chilly in some sheltered rural spots. Breezy. Minimum temperature 4C."
