Hour by hour forecast as Met Office predicts dry and warmer Sunday

The Met Office has predicted a dry and warmer Sunday in the North East. The region has experienced wintry weather over the last few days with temperatures plummeting across the UK.

Weather warnings alerted commuters to take care when driving due to icy surfaces leading to travel delays. However, forecasters have predicted Sunday is likely to stay dry and is to be warmer than the last few days.

A Met Office weather forecast states: "Cold, frosty start, followed by a dry morning with some hazy sunshine. Cloud thickens from the north through the day, but likely staying dry until evening. A band of rain then spreads south. Feeling warmer than recent days. Maximum temperature 11 °C."

And for tonight:" Breezy with outbreaks of rain, especially across northern and western hills. Eastern areas drier, especially by the early hours, with a few clearer spells possible. Less cold than previous nights. Minimum temperature 3 °C"
