The North East looks set for a day of sun and showers as the spring conditions continue.
According to the Met Office, the mixed weather that the region experienced over the weekend looks set to remain with the North East experiencing pretty much all seasons over the course of the day. The leading meteorologists have predicted some sunny spells over the course of today as well as a mild temperature.
That said, showers look set to be likely in the region. On top, coastal areas are particularly likely to experience windy weather as the day develops.

The Met Office have forecast the following conditions for today: "A cloudy but mostly dry day. Bright spells likely for a time in the afternoon, especially in eastern parts.
"Outbreaks of rain are likely to spread north by late-afternoon. Becoming increasingly windy, particularly around the coast. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
According to the Met Office, the conditions are likely to remain largely similar heading into tonight with rain still persisting in some areas. They forecast the following: "Remaining cloudy overnight with rain turning light and patchy before eventually clearing to the north.
"Drier in the south. Winds will gradually ease but staying blustery by the coast. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
