People living in a number of "hotspot areas" are being warned by police.
It comes after police said there has been an increase in the number of thefts of cars and motorcycles in and around Merseyside and also items being stolen from vehicles.
On Monday, the Wirral Police branch of Merseyside Police took to Facebook to warn residents that there had been an increase if thefts from vehicles in Eastham over the weekend.

Officers said car owners should make sure their vehicles are locked and they do not have any valuables on show.
In a statement, a Wirral Police spokesperson said: "Over the weekend, we have seen an increase in thefts from motor vehicles in the Eastham area.
"Please follow crime prevention advice and ensure your vehicles are locked and secure and do not leave any valuables on show, including small amounts of change."
In Widnes and Runcorn, police said they are investigating numerous thefts of motorcycles and are appealing for information from members of the public.
In the last three months there has been an increase in the bikes being stolen.
The bikes are then believed to be used to commit crime and anti-social behaviour in the towns.
Detective Constable Jordan Trentini said: “ While we will have officers patrolling these areas I am keen for the public to come forward with information that could help in pursuing those involved that would help put a stop to this behaviour.
“If you know who might be committing the thefts or using the bikes in an anti-social manner or to commit further crimes please get in touch.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may know where the bikes that have been stolen are now being stored.
“I understand people may be reticent in coming forward therefore I would encourage you to still provide information but to do so anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visiting their website.
“Information can be provided by visiting Cheshire Constabulary’s website too.”
Last week, the ECHO also reported Knowsley Police's warning about an increase in keyless entry thefts, also known as 'relay' thefts in the area.
Knowsley Police said criminals are also targeting Ford vehicles in particular.
On Thursday, officers also managed to recover a stolen vehicle following a "short pursuit" in the Field Lane, Fazakerley area.
They added despite an "extensive area search" involving dogs and helicopter, the men responsible for stealing the car were not able to be found.
An investigation is still ongoing, police said.
A spokesperson for Knowsley Police said: "Officers have been out across the borough this evening patrolling vehicle crime hotspots.
"This follows a recent increase in keyless entry thefts (or ‘relay’ thefts) with criminals targeting Ford motor vehicles in particular.
"Earlier this evening, officers from the Matrix Vehicle Enforcement Team successfully recovered a stolen vehicle following a short pursuit in the Field Lane area.
"Despite an extensive area search involving dogs and the helicopter, the males responsible were unable to be located.
"The investigation is still ongoing."
Police also released tips on how people can prevent their car being stolen.
These include keeping your car keys safe and as far away from the car as possible, use a signal-blocking pouch, apply a steering wheel lock, and ensure that your vehicle is parked in a well-lit area preferably covered by CCTV.
