Hotly-tipped Bristol musician Harvey Causon releases new EP

One of Bristol's most hotly-tipped musical artists releases his latest EP today (Friday, June 26).

Fourth Wall is the new five-track EP from Harvey Causon, who was BBC Radio 1 Introducing’s artist of the week in April 2018 following the release of one of his first releases, Worn You.

Showcasing his ability to shape and mould electronic influences with piano-based melodies, this is the artist and producer's most ambitious body of work to date.

Inspired by the likes of Mount Kimbie and FKA Twigs through to Kendrick Lamar and Delia Derbyshire, the former BIMM Bristol student has warmed up for the likes of Maribou State and Loyle Carner in recent years, with top DJs including Annie Mac and Huw Stephens among those to have played his music on their shows.

Speaking about the EP, Harvey said: "There are multiple narratives to the EP, including hypnagogic nightmare sleep states, the construct of spacetime, spectatorship through to consciousness and heuristic bias.

"Opening track Off Kilter transcends a vent up anger criticising the Cambridge Analytica Scandal and its use of data manipulation and biased advertising on social media to engineer the Brexit campaign.

"Musical features across the EP conspire from songs developed with the full band juxtaposed with ones formed in confinement amid global lockdown depicting a synthesis of paradoxical emotions and soundscapes."

As well as a number of highly-rated releases under his belt, Harvey's fanbase is also growing thanks to his memorable live performances, with his beautifully tender vocals drawing big crowds at festivals including Simple Things, Nozstock and many more.

With the release of this EP, Spotify hits in their millions and counting, an Electrowerkz London headline show on September 22 and much more unreleased music to come, it looks set to be an exciting year for the Bristol musician.

The EP will be available to stream on Spotify from Friday, June 26.
