Devoted pet owners will agree that you should never leave your dog out of the fun - and that includes a trip to the pub.

The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in Chester invites dogs to dine in its gastro pub, and offers them a selection of tasty dishes and drinks to choose from.

The four-star spa hotel serves roast dinners, fish and chips and tapas to canine guests enjoying a luxurious stay.

A spokesperson for the hotel said: "We're acclaimed for our high-quality 'human' food, so happy hounds needn't miss out when staying with us.

"During your visit make sure to ask about our dedicated menu for dogs featuring 'bark burgers', pork scratchings, 'lollipups' and 'paw star Martinis'."

The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in Chester is one of 500 restaurants and hotels across the UK serving Sir Woofchester's dog menu.

The unique canine hospitality company supplies dog-friendly establishments with a range of meals and treats, including sausages, sticking toffee pudding and an all-day breakfast.

Brand manager David Wright, 46, from Cumbria, said: "I used to visit restaurants and realised I couldn't get food for the dog. So last year, we launched a whole product range for pups.

"We now supply 500 restaurants, bars, hotels and dog-friendly establishments with the very best food.

"Everyone is always talking about our fish and chips, but the best-seller is the doggy sausages."

Sir Woofchester's food is ethically handmade in Britain and the company donates a portion of its profits to dog charities and rescue centres.

Lucy Nelson, director of Nelson Hotels chain in Chester, said: " Not only do our doggy diners go mad for them, but they really complement our own quality offering.

" There is a great and varied range of meals and treats, which all present extremely well; the branding and packaging is of a very high quality, and judging by how quickly they go down so is the taste!"

An independent pub sending pet owners into a frenzy is the King's Arms in West Malling, Kent.

It's new dog-friendly food menu has four plates specifically made for dogs' delicate palettes - and there is even a vegetarian option for non-meat diners.

Diners can order a £2.50 meat mezze, which comes with chicken, beef, sausage, ham, lamb and "whatever is in the kitchen".

One pub-goer, Amanda Greenslade, said: "My pooches absolutely woofed down their doggy dinners! But what I loved about this most, is the fact I ate MY dinner in peace without the 'please mum, give me a bit'."
