
A hotel will fly travellers home by private jet or extend their stay for free if they test positive for Covid-19 during their holiday.
Baha Mar, an upscale resort in the Bahamas, is rolling out the perks to entice visitors back to the tourism-dependent island.
As part of its Travel with Confidence scheme, the hotel pledges to allow guests who test positive during their stay quarantine for free, plus dining credit, for up to 14 days.
If guests who test positive need to return home to quarantine, Baha Mar will fly them and their family back to the US mainland by private jet for free.
There’s just one catch: Baha Mar must be the first destination guests visit when they enter the Bahamas.

As part of its Covid safety protocols, Baha Mar will test all guests on arrival at the property and before they leave. Other protocols include the mandatory wearing of face masks in public areas, and social distancing.
The Bahamas, a popular holiday destination for Americans, ie eyeing a big boost from tourism this year as the vaccination roll-out continues at pace. Visitor numbers to the Bahamas in 2020 were down 74 per cent from the year before, according to official figures.
Data from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation shows that in 2019, the Bahamas welcomed more than seven million tourists.
For British travellers, the Bahamas currently demands a negative Covid-19 test taken less than five days before departure, as well as a health visa application.
Travel within and beyond the UK is currently banned. According to the government roadmap, international travel for non-essential reasons could be permitted from 17 May.
