The hotel where the Wales rugby team are training has been shut down for "health and safety" reasons.
The Vale Resort said that due to a "massive power overload" they had had to close the hotel, health club and spa until "further notice" because there is no power at the hotel.
Guests have been moved to other hotels as the power has been out since Monday evening. Engineers are working to fix the problem.
Paul Beddoe, sales and marketing director at the Vale Resort, said a major power overload fused the main circuit board at the hotel, leading to a power failure at the hotel and leisure club.
Power remained on at the Vale Resort Golf Club as it’s on a different circuit.
He said: "With a fully-booked hotel, our primary concern was for the health and safety of our guests and our teams quickly put arrangements in place to feed all residents at the Vale Golf Club yesterday evening.
"However, when it became clear that power would not be restored quickly, we booked all of our guests into a number of local hotels and arranged transport for them.
"This has never happened in the history of the hotel and we are working around the clock with Western Power and SWALEC to resolve the issue urgently.
"Our number one priority remains minimising the disruption for our guests. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to all those affected last night, and we are contacting all those booked in this evening to alert them of the situation and to assist them in making alternative arrangements on their behalf.”
The Wales team regularly use the four-star hotel in the Vale of Glamorgan and are there at the moment as part of their preparations for the Rugby World Cup.
A spokesman for the Wales rugby team said that it had had minimal effect because there was still power to the Centre of Excellence at the hotel where most of their training takes place.
He said: "A couple of the players who are staying at the hotel were moved because of the power cut, but the centre must be on a different server so training is going ahead as usual."
Western Power has been approached for a comment.
