A hotel group has launched a bidding system which allows guests the chance to name their own price for holidays.
Be Live Hotels will reopen specific establishments in the Canary Islands, the Balearics, Portugal and the Dominican Republic in July after carrying out extensive measures to protect tourists from coronavirus, reports the Mirror.
The Spanish hotel chain says it will have strict regulations in place, including social distancing, a la carte restaurant service, continuous cleaning and disinfecting and regular temperature checks on staff and suppliers.
And to celebrate the hotels reopening, the company has launched an online bidding system which sees would-be holidaymakers suggesting how much they want to pay.
To take part, you register as a Be Live Hotels user online, select the hotel you want to stay at and then name your price.
Suggestions will get an instant answer and if your bid is accepted, you can go ahead and make your booking.
If the bid is turned down, you'll have another two chances.
The website shows an overview of the rooms at each hotel and how much they would normally cost before asking: "How much would you be willing to pay for this room?"
Be Live Hotels confirmed: "Tailor-made holidays deserve a custom rate made just for you. Propose a reasonable custom rate for any of the hotels included in the promotion and start enjoying the perfect holiday experience."
There are more than 120 hotels listed for the "name your own price" promotion, including in Tenerife where the chain is based.
