Hotel employee praised for perfect revenge against 'selfish' sun-lounger hoggers

Relaxing by the pool on a holiday can truly be one of the best things you can do while away but, as many people know, things can be made stressful when people display poor sun-lounger etiquette.

One holidaymaker has captured the moment a hotel worker who was taking no-nonsense enacted revenge on cheeky sun-lounger hoggers, all the while ensuring that they wouldn’t be attempting the same trick again.

In a video on TikTok, two sun loungers are seen covered in towels, claimed by two guests who could not be seen. Unbeknownst to the sunbathers, the hotel worker had put a 30-minute timer on and was waiting.

However, when nobody appeared within the time period, he took executive action by folding up the towels neatly and putting them into bags along with their pink flamingo inflatable.

The employee, who has been labelled the "towel police" by TikTok user John McGowan, then bounced off bags in hand, with the sunbeds now free for anyone who wished to use them.

John, who goes by the username @perfectpicx, stated that "justice" had been served, and plenty of others were in agreement.

One person applauded: "Well done to this resort, hope others take note, might make people's hols less stressful if towel dashes don't happen anymore."

Another commented: "All resorts need to have someone monitoring this sun cot situation. I've seen people save their sun cots from morning until late afternoon."

A third person approved: "Love this. So rude and think they are entitled."

Now, many holidaymakers do leave their sunbed as they head for a dip or grab a drink but the issue arises in how long they leave for.

Etiquette expert William Hanson previously told the Mirror: "Reserving sun loungers with a towel for longer than 30 minutes is a big no-no, beyond that grace period it's first come first served."
