A 119-bedroom town centre hotel development on the site of a former Woolworths store in Holyhead has gone up for sale.
Since Woolworths folded in 2008, the unit in the centre of the Anglesey port town has remained largely empty.
But Anglesey Council’s planning committee unanimously approved the bid to demolish the department store on Market Street, Holyhead and construct a five-storey hotel in 2018.
Now the property has been placed on the market with Lambert Smith Hampton.
Commercial agent Lambert Smith Hampton said: "Planning consent has been obtained for the demolition of the existing property and the erection of a new five storey 119 bedroom hotel with a 150 sq m retail unit fronting onto Market Street with planning use class A3(food and drink).
"It is felt that the hotel would suit a corporate branded operation and our clients have secured the interest of a corporate brand who would be willing to offer a franchise agreement to an ingoing operator."
The development is on the market for offers over £650,000.
