The Crystalbrook Collection hotel chain has looked within to find a general manager for its new five-star establishment in Newcastle's "roundhouse" building.
Carl Taranto, who was general manager of the company's Bailey hotel in Cairns, will take the reins on November 9 before the Kingsley opens in Newcastle's Civic precinct in April.
Mr Taranto worked at the Marriott and Accor hotel chains before joining Crystalbrook in 2018.
He will lead a Kingsley staff of more than 100.
