A Hot World Buffet restaurant is set to open its doors in East Kilbride town centre.
The chain, which has eateries in Glasgow and elsewhere in Lanarkshire, appeared before the East Kilbride Area Licensing Board.
It was granted a licence by board members and it is understood it will be in the unit vacated by the The Handmade Burger Co.
The chain collapsed in 2017 and the outlet in the multi- million pound revamped leisure Hub shut its doors just nine months after opening.
It has lain vacant since and the news will be a welcome boost for the town centre which has seen a number of closures.
The Filling Station at the Hub also closed its doors and Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquitos are under threat after its owners posted hefty losses.
The Restaurant Group said it is looking to exit some Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s sites to stabilise its long-term future.
