Hot takes are out following Patriots’ brutal loss to Ravens

The New England Patriots disappointed on Sunday Night Football in Week 9. They didn’t look like themselves in a 37-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Or was this the Patriots’ true identity? Are they frauds?

That was one narrative headed into the game. Some analysts argued the Patriots defense hadn’t face anyone legitimate. Some analysts argued the offense’s problems were going overlooked. And those analysts got a feather in their cap on Sunday night when Lamar Jackson and company shocked Bill Belichick and Tom Brady on primetime.

It’s not the end of the world for New England. They’re still 8-1. But perhaps it was a wakeup call — they’ve got significant improvements if they want to win a Super Bowl. “Ignore the hype. When everything’s great, it’s really not. When everything’s bad, it’s really not,” Tom Brady said on Monday morning in an interview with WEEI.
