May 31--Sausage lovers, mark your calendars for June 24 and 25: Doug Sohn, don of encased meats, today announced his sausage lineup at the second-ever Dog Dayz of Summer event at the Goose Island Barrel Warehouse.
Expect a healthy showing of Hot Doug's best hits: Swiss-cheese-stuffed corned beef sausage (called the "Teuben"), spicy Thai chicken sausage, smoked alligator and pork sausage and seven other styles. Sohn will also be unveiling a mystery sausage created for the event.
Goose Island will provide the beer, though the brewery is waiting until June 7 to reveal what's on tap.
True to the democratic spirit of the original Hot Doug's, three ticketed sessions are first-come, first-served -- there are no VIP tickets or special access passes. One ticket ($70) includes unlimited sausage sandwiches and duck fat fries, so come hungry. Ticketholders will also receive three regular beer tickets plus a special token for a specialty tapping of a rare Goose Island beer.
Over two days, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Soft Speaker, The Waco Brothers, The Claudettes, The Tossers and Get Up With The Get Downs will take turns gracing the stage of the family-friendly fest.
A percentage of ticket proceeds benefit the Intonation Music Workshop, an organization that provides music education and access to instruments, music lessons and performance opportunities for children.
