Host of Midlothian drivers stopped and warned by police during patrols on two roads

Several drivers were pulled over and warned during police patrols on two Midlothian roads this morning.

Nine warnings were dished out by community officers checking for speeding offences on Elm Road and Polton Road, both in Lasswade, earlier on Friday.

They say they were carrying out patrols in the area following complaints from residents living in the community.

Five warnings were handed out on Elm Road while a further four were dished out on Polton Road.

Police shared news of the proactive activity, adding: "We will continue to carry out road/speed checks as it is part of our Local Policing Priorities."

Officers also conducted patrols around Lasswade Primary School in Bonnyrigg on Friday – at drop-off and pick-up times – after complaints about inconsiderate parking. Three fixed penalty notices were issued by officers.

They added: "Following complaints regarding inconsiderate parking around Lasswade Primary School, Bonnyrigg, Local Community Officers attended this morning and afternoon around drop off and pick up times.

"Although most parents parked appropriately today, officers issued three fixed penalty tickets to three drivers not adhering to the restrictions."
