President Michael D Higgins was among the mourners at the funeral of Superquinn founder Feargal Quinn on Saturday morning.
A whole host of famous faces from the world of business and politics turned out to pay their final respects to the 82-year-old who passed away peacefully at his home in Howth on Wednesday.
There was standing room only at St Fintan’s Church in Sutton, Co Dublin, as the congregation was told how he was a father not just to his five children but also to all those who worked for him at the supermarket chain over the years.

His son Eamonn told mourners, which included Children’s Minister Katherine Zappone, former Justice Minister Michael McDowell and former presidential candidate and businessman Peter Casey, the massive impact he had on those who met him.
And he said his family, which includes 19 grandchildren, will always remember him and the fond memories he helped to create.
He said: “Thank you for being part of our lives. Thank you for the fun, for all the debates, for all the memories, you are irreplaceable. But most of all we will miss you.”
Superquinn founder Feargal Quinn passes away aged 82
A former Senator, Mr Quinn was best known for founding the Superquinn grocery chain.
In 2005 the Quinn family sold their interest in Superquinn to the Musgraves family's Supervalu chain of stores.
Superquinn was famed over the years for their quality of customer service and introduced Ireland's first loyalty card scheme, dubbed SuperClub.

Mr Quinn was born in Dublin in 1936 and was a graduate of University College Dublin.
His book "Crowning The Customer", published in 1990, has been translated to multiple languages and continues to be cited worldwide.
He is survived by his wife Denise, their five children and 19 grandchildren.
