Hossa's late goal lifts Blackhawks over Bruins, 1-0

BOSTON _ The Blackhawks got a late goal from Marian Hossa in the third period to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Bruins at TD Garden.

It was Hossa's first goal since Dec. 15. Tanner Kero set up the winning goal for the second consecutive game with a nifty pass to the goal scorer.

Scott Darling was in net for the Hawks in his first start since Jan. 6. Darling entered the game having allowed one goal or fewer in six of his last 10 starts. He continued his string of strong play in making 30 saves.

And Darling was busy in the first period as the Bruins sent 17 shots on goal, but Darling was able to stop each of them to preserve a 0-0 tie. The Hawks managed just six shots on goal.

The Hawks limited the Bruins to just eight shots in the second period, but had just eight shots of their own.

In the only other lineup change, Jordin Tootoo is back in for Andrew Desjardins.
