Hospitality Day: Is Bristol facing a hospitality crisis? Fill in our survey

A few weeks ago, I turned up for a boozy bottomless brunch booking at a harbourside hospitality venue, to be met with a crying waitress. She apologised profusely through tears, and told me it was her first time opening up, and none of the staff had arrived. Why? Two words: the pingdemic.

Walking around Bristol city centre post-lockdowns is a new experience, as cafes, pubs and restaurants can be found with hastily printed notes on doors explaining they’re shut as staff have unfortunately tested positive.

Another big blow for Bristol’s otherwise vibrant hospitality scene. Independent eateries, popular chains and craft boozers line this city’s streets - but this is an industry that’s acutely under pressure.

Bristol is facing a hospitality crisis. And we want to know what you make of what’s happening, and what support needs to be in place for our city.

Fill out our survey below to share your thoughts - whether you’re a punter, hospitality worker, tourist or born-and-bred Bristolian, we want to hear from you.

If the survey fails to load, you can fill it in here
