Hospital message 'to a friend I have never met' captures visitor's heart

A heartwarming message left by a stranger on a toilet door at the Royal Liverpool Hospital has been shared on social media.

The note read: "To a friend I have never met... sending love from my heart to yours, what a beautiful journey we are on, this thing called life.

"Well done for showing up and doing your best... I am proud of you!"

It was spotted and shared on social media by Claire Weston, who was at the Royal to visit a patient.

Claire, from Huyton, said: "It's been a stressful time and this message underneath the 'no smoking' sign on the toilet door caught my eye.

"It was so uplifting that I just thought I'd share it. It really made my day."

Claire's post was retweeted by the Royal, who said: "You've got to love this."
