Hospital latest: Ten people remain in intensive care in Lanarkshire with coronavirus

The Scottish Government today said that 1520 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire - up 28 from yesterday.

It comes as 1,576 patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

And 10 people in Lanarkshire were in intensive care at midnight, with confirmed or suspected coronavirus.

The Scottish test numbers for May 5 show a total of 63,311 people have been tested across the country.

Of these:

■ 50,874 tests were confirmed negative

■ 12,437 tests were positive

■ 1620 patients who tested positive have died

■ 104 patients were in intensive care last night, with 91 of those having tested positive

■ There were 1225 people in Scottish hospitals confirmed with COVID-19 (including those in intensive care), and a further 431 where it was suspected.
