Hospital figures latest: Seven people in Lanarkshire are in intensive care with confirmed or suspected coronavirus

The Scottish Government today said that 1492 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire.

It comes as 1,576 patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

And seven people in Lanarkshire were in intensive care at midnight, with confirmed or suspected coronavirus.

The Scottish test numbers for May 4 show a total of 61,696 people have been tested across the country.

Of these:

■ 49,430 tests were confirmed negative

■ 12,266 tests were positive

■ 1576 patients who tested positive have died

■ 99 patients were in intensive care last night, with 91 of those having tested positive

■ There were 1720 people in Scottish hospitals with either confirmed or suspected COVID-19 (including those in intensive care).
