The Peroorkada police have instituted a probe into a complaint that a patient manhandled an attendant at the District Hospital in Peroorkada on Tuesday.
The alleged incident occurred around 12 p.m. when a woman, identified as Vidya, sought medical attention at the outpatient wing for fever. She was told by the doctor to return with the results of some laboratory tests and after receiving an injection.
Her attempt to bypass a queue that had formed in front of the doctor’s room later was thwarted by Beenamol, an attendant, who insisted she wait for her turn. This resulted in an argument and paved way for Vidya allegedly physically assaulting the hospital employee. She later went absconding while Beenamol had gone to alert the authorities.
