Horse racing tips for the Perth Festival as Paul Nicholls’ Complete Unknown is heavily fancied

It’s a bumper few days of action in Scotland over the next few days and as usual – we’ll have all the best racing tips.

COMPLETE UNKNOWN (3:35) can steal the limelight in the Gold Castle Novices’ Hurdle at the Perth Festival.

Paul Nicholls’ horse built on some smart efforts when routing Marble Sands in a Sandown Grade 3, reckons Garry Owen.

There is plenty more to come from this strong-traveller who can claim a high-class Listed contest.

Gordon Elliott always targets this meeting so I’m backing LAFFITE (1:50) in the maiden hurdle.

The gelding was an good second to Mount Brown over his timber bow over two miles at Wexford.

The five-year-old was staying-on strongly late so he can deny some promising rivals upped in trip.

The Meath Maestro can also take the Capercaillie Handicap Chase with COACH CARTER (3:00).

The six-year-old can score with a repeat of his good second to Beakstown in an Ayr Listed event.

SHANTOU LUCKY (2:25) can shade a trappy novices’ handicap chase for Gavin Cromwell.

The five-year-old opened his account over fences by decisive defeating the useful Yabo at Clonmel.

The gelding wasn’t exactly stopping at the business end so he can see off a strong field over 2m 4f.

COREY’S COURAGE (4:41) can stretch her unbeaten record to four in the mares’ hurdle.

Olly Murphy’s raider should do plenty of damage in handicaps after bolting up at Doncaster.

BEEP BEEP (5:16) can extend Nigel Twiston-Davies’ excellent run in the amateurs’ hurdle.

The six-year-old put in her best shift yet when third to Hector Javilex in a decent Ludlow novice.

The gelding looks open to progress so he can take full advantage of a reasonable opening mark.

VADAMIAH (2:15) can continue Paul Midgley’s flying start to the Flat season at Catterick.

The filly left her juvenile form behind when hammering Sherdil on her return over track and trip.

The sprinter scored with plenty in hand that day so she can make light of a well-earned 6lb hike.

Micky Hammond is also thriving at present so I’m rowing in with MYBOYMAX (2:50).

The gelding was a reasonable second to Jamil on his return to Turf over course and distance.

The four-year-old remains fairly-treated in this sphere so he can go one better up in class.
