Horse racing tips for New Year's Day include Paul Nicholls-trained pair at Musselburgh

ACCOMPLICE is fancied to kick-start Paul Nicholls’ march towards a second seasonal century by beating eight rivals for the Betway Handicap Hurdle (1.20) at Musselburgh.

Nicholls reached three figures for the campaign when Shearer scored at Warwick yesterday, and Bryony Frost’s mount Accomplice is ready to hit the back of the net after a two-length second to River Bray at Wincanton at the start of last month.

Ditcheat raider MIRANDA can complete a double for Manor Farm in the Betway Hogmaneigh Handicap Hurdle (1.55) after hitting the bullseye for prolific amateur Angus Cheleda at Ludlow last time out.

The Betway “Auld Reekie” Handicap Chase (3.05) looks open, but you could set your clocks by RETURN TICKET, who is expected to go all the way.
