Dundalk stages its second meeting of the week this evening.
And the Emmet Mullins-trained Sneaky Getaway, although pulled up last time, is napped to make a successful polytrack debut in the two-mile DundalkStadium.com Race.
Sneaky Getaway is a six-time winner, having landed two bumpers, two hurdles and two events on the flat.
Most of his form is on good ground. And, fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time, I expect him to glide along on the polytrack.
Rated 96, his last two flat outings were in ultra-competitive handicaps – he finished eighth to Stratum in the 2019 English Cesarewitch and 11th behind stable-companion Cape Gentleman in the Irish equivalent in October.
To be ridden by in-form Colin Keane Sneaky Getaway must bounce back from his “pulled up” effort in the Pertemps Qualifier at Leopardstown over Christmas. And I expect him to prove too powerful for Grandmaster Flash and Kasperenko.
Raised 9lb for two recent course and distance wins, Eddie Lynam’s Masalai, helped by Dylan Browne McMonagle’s (left) 5lb claim, might be capable of completing his hat-trick in the finale.
