A MOTORCYCLIST has died at Mirrabooka and a 62-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash at Campvale during a horror 24 hours on Hunter roads.
Police said emergency services were called to the lakeside suburb, about nine kilometres east of Morisset, about 1.30pm on Friday after reports of a crash.
Investigators believe the motorcycle was travelling along Dandaraga Road before it struck a caravan that was parked in the driveway of a home.
The rider died at the scene. Police said over the weekend that he was yet to be identified, but it is believed to be a 31-year-old man. Lake Macquarie police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the crash.
Meanwhile, emergency services were called to Richardson Road at Campvale about 11.15am on Saturday following reports of a crash. When they arrived, police were told a car had left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The driver and only occupants of the vehicle, a 62-year-old man, was treated at the scene by members of the public and emergency services but died at the scene.
Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
In both fatal crashes, police say they will prepare a brief of information for the NSW Coroner.
Anyone with information about either crash is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
As well as those crashes, the Westpac rescue helicopter was tasked to a serious motorcycle crash on a remote property north east of Scone on Friday.
