Horror state of Ayr's Station Hotel laid bare in 17 minute YouTube video

Incredible footage from inside Ayr's Station Hotel has laid bare the sorry state of the crumbling Victorian pile.

A 17 minute video released by 'urban explorers' who accessed the building shows the B-Listed hotel from top to bottom.

Videographers can be heard gasping in horror as they make their way down the building and shooting scenes in everything from bedrooms to the hotel's former bars and restaurants.

Water can be heard pouring throughout the building as one cameraman remarks: "It's not even raining outside."

The footage has been released on YouTube by 'Urbandoned' - a team of four explorers who access disused buildings across the UK.

It comes as South Ayrshire Council remain locked in a legal battle with the hotel's absentee owner, Eng Huat Ung.

The local authority erected a tomb of scaffolding around the hotel in 2018 and applied a Dangerous Building Notice on the structure.

Stalemate has endured since with talks around a potential sale of the building so far failing to bear fruit.
