A man has been rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds after allegedly being attacked inside an Ayrshire house.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Arthur Street in Stevenston at around 6.40pm on Thursday following reports of a ‘disturbance’.
A 37-year-old was found to be seriously injured before being rushed to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
Officers say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a disturbance at a property on Arthur Street in Stevenston around 6.40pm on Thursday, 10 June.
"A 37-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, 11 June."
