Horror smash involving police car in Dundee as two men rushed to hospital

Two men have been rushed to hospital for treatment after being involved in a crash with a marked police vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Arbroath Road in Dundee at around 8.10pm on Thursday, June 3.

Shocking images from the scene show a smashed up blue Vauxhall car and a maroon people carrier vehicle.

A marked police 4x4 was also involved and suffered damage to its front bumper.

The road is understood to have been closed for several hours while accident investigation work was carried out.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the scene before taking two people to hospital.

The extent of their injuries is not currently known.

A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 20:10hrs to attend a road traffic collision on Arbroath Road, Dundee on Thursday night (3rd June).

“Two males were transported by road to Ninewells Hospital.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
