Horror series Midnight Mass looks like the new Netflix horror you'll be addicted to

After scaring the living bejesus out of audiences with The Haunting Of Hill House, Mike Flanagan backed it up with a more slow-burning and character-focused turn in The Haunting Of Bly Manor.

Aside from these features, Flanagan has established himself as one of the finest horror writers/directors around with impressive work on the likes of Doctor Sleep, Hush, Gerald's Game and more

Well, the horror maestro is back with a new seven-episode show that's set to terrify audiences.

In terms of the plot, Midnight Mass tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater).

When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervour takes hold of the community: but do these miracles come at a price?

After terrifying us all with his haunted house tales, viewers are about to go on a journey to Crockett Island, an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events - and frightening omens – following the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.

Midnight Mass is released on Netflix on September 24.
