Horror Scots road crashes in Hawick and Fife as two motorcyclists killed

Police are appealing for information after two motorcyclists were killed on Scottish roads yesterday.

The first incident saw a fatal road traffic collision on the B6357 at Rough Hope Sike, near Bonchester Bridge, Hawick.

The incident happened at 12.30pm yesterday.

Sergeant Paul Ewing, Road Policing Unit, Police Scotland, said: "In this incident, a motorcyclist, who was riding with a group of motorcyclists, left the road and collided with a tree.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene. We are appealing for anyone who may have information, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident, to come forward and help us with our enquiries."

In Fife, cops are also appealing for information following a two-vehicle fatal road traffic collision near Dairsie yesterday.

Officers were called to the A91 Guardbridge to Dairsie road yesterday evening where a green Kawasaki motorcycle, which had been travelling with another similar motorcycle , collided with a blue Toyota Yaris at around 5.40pm.

Emergency services attended, however, the 54-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Nicola Young, Divisional Road Police Unit, added: "A number of people stopped to assist at the scene of this incident, however, we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any of these vehicles before the collision.

"If you have information which could assist with our enquiries, including dashcam footage, please contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3359 of 21 September 2019."
