Dublin Fire Brigade have issued a stark warning about the dangers of kitchen fires.
Firefighters from Dolphins Barn were called to a kitchen fire in the capital this bank holiday weekend.
The emergency services have warned that late night cooking if the leading cause of fires in Dublin homes.
They are urging people to consider ordering a takeaway instead of cooking after a night out, as late night cooking can have disastrous consequences.
They said: "Firefighters from Dolphins Barn fire station extinguished a kitchen fire this weekend.
"Late night cooking is a leading cause of fires in the home.
"Arriving home after a night out?
"Consider a takeaway.
"It's far safer."
