Horror moment boy, 14, somersaults four times after being struck by 60mph car

This is the horrific moment a teenage boy is flung into the air, somersaulting four times, after being hit by a ­speeding car trying to evade police .

Ibrahim Ahmed, 14, was crossing the road when Mohammed Hussain, 20, struck him at 59mph in a 20mph zone.

The teenager – who was “left for dead” on the pavement – was given emergency CPR by officers who had been in pursuit.

Ibrahim survived broken bones, organ damage and internal bleeding.

Hussain was driving through Luton, Bedfordshire, last March when police became suspicious of his silver Volkswagen Golf.

When they moved to pull him over, he tried to escape by driving off at high speed.

Ibrahim can be seen on CCTV spotting Hussain coming towards him. He starts to run but is hit and thrown into the air.

Hussain, of Southampton Gardens, Luton, admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was jailed for 16 months at Luton Crown Court .

Sergeant James Thorne said: “His actions led to a 14-year-old boy being struck at high speed and left for dead.”
